02. A Purpose Driven Business
A vision that becomes our biggest sadaqa-e-jariyah. A vision that their families, teams, and future generations will love to give their lives for.
Not a vision of profit.
A vision rooted in purpose.
And the result?
They now understand why Allah (swt) continues to bless them.
**Because He gives barakah to those who use their businesses as a path to goodness, not greed.
But Allah (swt) blessed their sincerity.
The land they touch often turns to gold.
If you’re a business owner, listen carefully:
Your business is not just a livelihood.
It’s a vehicle of impact.
It can change lives, uplift communities, and write your eternal story.
Life is short. Profit fades.
However, a purpose-driven business continues to reward you long after you leave this world.
=== I’ve been immersed in a deep consulting assignment with a large real estate development group in Dubai over the past week.
I can’t name them as they prefer quiet impact over public applause.
But their story is worth listening.
Because it shattered a myth most people believe:
“That in today’s world, you can’t succeed without bending your values.”
Wrong. Completely wrong.
This group is proof that when your vision is rooted in ethical and ideological foundations, success is not only possible but inevitable.
Here are just a few of their rules:
1️⃣ Zero interest-based financing.
At a time when everyone happily signs debt, they refused it from day one.
2️⃣ No penalties for late payments, even though it could earn them AED 5 million a year.
3️⃣ No cancellation charges, which could add another million-plus annually.
4️⃣ Zero earnings from banks, though they easily qualify for it, and banks offer them AED 5 million per annum in profits.
5️⃣ No lies. No manipulation. No deception.
Not with clients.
Not with contractors.
Not with subcontractors.
6️⃣ 100% salaries paid before the 1st of each month.
Not a day late. Ever.
7️⃣ They grow their people.
I met a young man who joined as an office boy seven years ago…
Today, he serves as a client project coordinator, handling communication with 40 clients.
He learned English.
He transformed his personality.
He grew because they believed he could.
8️⃣ They helped 12 individuals and groups start their own real-estate development companies.
Their employees, neighbors, and friends.
They didn’t fear “competition.” They created it.
9️⃣ They hold no jealousy or ill will toward any competitor.
They genuinely feel happy for others.
These are not wealthy men from influential families.
They started as real estate agents 20 years ago, with ordinary, lower-middle-class backgrounds.
But Allah (swt) blessed their sincerity.
The land they touch often turns to gold.
So they asked me a question last week:
“We’re making money… but we don’t know why we should continue to grow?”
That question changed everything.
We spent 10 hours every day for five days crafting a vision that will outlive them.
A vision that becomes their biggest sadaqa-e-jariyah.
A vision that their families, teams, and future generations will love to give their lives for.
Not a vision of profit.
A vision rooted in purpose.
And the result?
They now understand why Allah (swt) continues to bless them.
Because He gives barakah to those who use their businesses as a path to goodness, not greed.
