Our thoughts are regulated through these Three channels - Our Eyes, Ears and Tongue. Our Belief / Trust / Faith is governed by our thoughts. **Once the Belief / Trust / Faith is instilled, one uses not only one’s body, but also one’s faculties solely for the pleasure of Allah.

Effort begins immediately; change occurs gradually.

When the effort on the eyes and the ears is not made, eyes look at things happening without any thought of Allah; ears listen to things happening without thought of Allah; And when eyes and ears are swayed away from Allah, the tongue says what the eyes and ears teach. What ever the tongue says, that becomes the person’s belief, Faith in Allah does not enter his heart.

The result is that the person does what he thinks is right in accordance with his misconceived beliefs, and this leads to unhappiness, restlessness, destruction of one’s inner self and of others, resulting in constant sleeplessness and discontent. Such a person does not know what true peace of mind is.

**EFFORT OF EYES / Training Our Eyes

It is absolutely essential to get the eyes to see realities. No matter what one sees with one’s eyes, one should think that the object came from nothing, it will deteriorate and eventually end up as nothing, and the middle portion (its existence) is due solely to Allah’s Kudrat and blessings.

Then when one sees a King, a Prime Minister or a millionaire. one will immediately realise that he started as earth, he will end up as nothing but earth, and the middle, what one sees, is Allah’s Kudrat (miracle of life).

The so called ‘mighty’ person has no power in his own account. save what Allah has given him.

Once one starts to see every object, every living creature, in this light, then one will start to build the necessary faith in Allah and this effort will then result in correct usage of the eyes.

**Effort of Ears / Training Our Ears

The effort here is very simple. As soon as one hears that any being other than Allah is capable of doing anything without the help of Allah, one should reject this notion outright and immediately say that whatever happens in this world happens through the power of Allah.

**Effort of the Tongue / Training Our Tongue

One should always use the tongue in the manner prescribed by Allah and always acknowledge that one has no power to do anything except with grace and help of Allah.

One should remember that no one is worthy of worship except Allah, all purity belongs to Allah, all praises belong to Allah and Allah is the greatest.

Through the correct implementation of these three efforts, Faith will develop. It will take time but it certainly will develop, thereby facilitating acceptance of the fact that Allah can do whatever He wishes without any help from His creations and His creations can do nothing without the help of Allah.
