The Veil of Means — Seeing Allah Behind Every Cause - Quran (39:62)

THE CREATOR AND CONTROLLER

Allah is the creator of all things and he is in charge of everything. -Quran (39:62)

Welcome back to From the Quran, where every verse is a hidden universe.

Today’s verse pulls back the curtain on the greatest illusion of all, the illusion of means. Because everything you touch, you see or depend on from medicine to money is only a veil over the real actor Allah.

Let’s open Quranhive together and go to

1:04

surah zmer verse 62. We’re going to go

1:08

to quranhive.com

1:10

and I like the phonetic

1:12

search feature. So I’m just going to,

1:14

you know, type in something unique. So

1:21

So I type it like I it sounds but in

1:23

English but like it sounds in Arabic.

1:25

Here we go.

1:28

Then you click this orange. So chapter

1:31

39 verse 62 where Allah subhana t says

1:40

God is the creator of all things and he

1:43

has charge of everything. So if we can

1:48

reflect a little bit on this verse, what

1:52

we find is that first and foremost it

1:54

was revealed in Mecca where people

1:56

believed idols and forces had influence

1:59

over life. Rain gods, war gods, wealth

2:02

gods. Allah revealed this verse to break

2:06

that illusion. Allah is the creator of

2:09

everything

2:15

and he is the the one who manages every

2:20

single detail. The Arabic structure

2:26

it’s continuous. It’s nominal meaning

2:29

continuous. So Allah is not I didn’t

2:32

just create but he’s in every moment.

2:35

He’s not just the one who created

2:37

everything once upon a time. He is

2:40

constantly creating in the now. Every

2:44

heartbeat,

2:46

every breath, every thought you have is

2:51

a fresh act of creation by Allah subhana

2:54

wa ta’ala. Then the verse says

3:00

doesn’t just mean guardian. It means the

3:03

one who takes responsibility for the

3:06

outcome of every cause. And if we look

3:10

at Quranhive, this is one of the nice

3:12

features. I want to go into wil and what

3:15

it means. You can also access it from

3:18

here. This dropdown. I like the grammar

3:21

breakdown. I can just go straight to the

3:23

word. And what we find here and I’ll

3:26

zoom in a little bit to help you read

3:31

but it is a nominative indefinite noun

3:36

as it is the predicate of the implied

3:38

subject

3:40

speaking of Allah subhana tala but then

3:42

it has the breakdown means trustee

3:45

guardian or disposer of affairs. It is

3:49

in the nominative case due to its

3:51

position as a predicate. It then goes on

3:53

to the root of the word. The root is

3:57

so here wala which means to entrust or

4:01

rely upon you know in Arabic like even

4:04

when I remember my I want my father to

4:06

take care of something on my behalf when

4:08

he’s traveling to the Middle East. So

4:10

he’ll say okay I need a wakala from you

4:12

which is pretty much like a power of

4:14

attorney. So it is Allah has full

4:18

authorization responsibility and he has

4:21

full

4:23

he’s able to execute as he pleases.

4:27

So the relationship it describes the

4:29

attribute of who indicating that Allah

4:32

is the disposer of affairs over all

4:35

things. Then it gives you the overall

4:37

meaning. It signifies the role of Allah

4:39

is the one who manages and governs all

4:42

matters.

4:43

So this is just absolutely beautiful

4:45

where you could sort of delve deeper

4:48

using Quran hive to understand the

4:51

meanings and the you know the root words

4:53

and the grammar and whatnot. So what do

4:57

we understand from this? The fire

5:00

doesn’t burn. It is Allah subhanahu wa

5:03

ta’ala’s will and command in the fire.

5:06

So the fire burns through Allah’s will

5:09

not by its own heat. what anything of

5:12

its own. Allah is the wil. He’s the

5:15

manager, the controller, the executor,

5:17

the director, you know, the writer, the

5:20

producer, the one, the only, the all

5:23

powerful. But he is because he is all

5:25

powerful. Then you can trust him. He is

5:28

wil over all affairs.

5:33

He didn’t create and leave his creation.

5:34

He created and owned full authority full

5:38

wala full control over every single atom

5:42

in the universe cannot manifest or be

5:45

without the command of Allah. It is the

5:47

juice the the the electricity the

5:51

invisible behind that electricity that

5:54

energy in the wires that allows the bulb

5:56

to shine. So the medicine heals through

5:59

Allah not by its chemical property.

6:02

Money provides through Allah, not by its

6:04

paper value. All of these are like stunt

6:07

doubles for divine action. They look

6:09

like they’re doing the work, but they’re

6:11

only performing the scene. And this

6:14

world, my dear brothers and sisters, is

6:16

what I commonly refer to as the divine

6:19

matrix. It’s a system designed by Allah

6:22

subhana wa ta’ala not to show you Allah

6:24

directly, but to test whether you can

6:27

see him through everything else. The

6:30

world in a sense becomes perspeacious.

6:34

You begin to have perspicacity. There’s

6:36

transparency. You’re able to see not

6:39

through sight but through insight. With

6:42

the N of E, you’re able to pierce

6:46

through the veils of multiplicity with

6:48

the N of unity. The test is not about

6:51

working hard or earning your risk. It’s

6:53

whether your heart stops at the paycheck

6:56

or sees through it to Alak. Are you with

6:59

the risk or are you with the whether you

7:03

thank the doctor or the healer who sent

7:05

him? Whether you rely on your skills or

7:09

the one who gave them to you. So when we

7:11

say

7:15

it’s not just rejecting idols, it’s

7:18

rejecting dependence on any means other

7:22

than him Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

7:26

Everything you see manifest appearing in

7:29

this world is an ayah, a sign. And every

7:33

sign points back to the one signing it.

7:38

Subhan Allah. The artist leaves his

7:41

signature, his autograph on every single

7:44

art piece. And what an art piece this

7:46

dunya is. When you see Allah behind the

7:49

cause, the cause, apparent cause loses

7:53

its power over you. You realize you’re

7:56

just in a hologram, a simulation that

7:59

spacetime is not fundamental reality,

8:02

but ultimately it is the command of

8:04

Allah. Consciousness is primary to

8:07

matter. Before matter, there was

8:10

consciousness. There was there was the

8:12

command of Allah. He and it is that is

8:16

the freedom of when your heart witnesses

8:20

one doer behind every doing. Just as a

8:25

wave can move apart from the ocean.

8:28

Nothing in existence acts apart from

8:30

allahel.

8:32

Every wave that rises or falls is only

8:35

the ocean expressing itself. Likewise,

8:39

every event, every rise and fall in your

8:43

life is Allah manifesting his command.

8:47

So don’t worship the waves.

8:50

Return to the ocean. Remember means are

8:54

the actors on stage, but the script, the

8:58

direction, and the spotlight all belong

9:01

to Allah. And when you see that clearly,

9:04

life stops being random and starts

9:08

feeling sacred. If this verse touched

9:11

your heart, remember to like, share, and

9:13

subscribe and join as a channel member

9:15

to support our journey from the Quran

9:18

because the prophet sallallah.aii

9:20

wasallam said, “Whoever leads to good

9:23

gets the same reward as the one who does

9:26

it.”

9:28

So every share, every view, every

9:30

reminder echoes in the scale of good

9:33

deeds. Until next time, keep reflecting

9:35

and keep uncovering the hidden universes

9:39

within the Quran. This was your host

9:42

Usama with From the Quran, where every

9:46

verse is a hidden universe.
